Dedicated processes and equipment for machining a given product for a customer. Repeated orders. Our production levels are much higher than most machine shops due to automation and process optimization. We provide high product mix, with either high or low volume.

Development of new product according to customer need. Prototypes are not a repeated order until finalized with both the customer and Diablo Precision. We assist in process documentation, creating the prototype products, and programming, tooling and fixturing to finalize specifications.

When a customer comes to us with a part and says, “This is no longer made by anyone/this part is obsolete. We need new parts!” Diablo will examine the product, document its specifications, and turn the information over to the customer for any modifications they want. Then we re-create the product according to those specifications.

No product leaves the Diablo facility without inspection. Our Inspection service is also available for:

• Customers who bring in a product someone else made. When a customer does this, we inspect the product & issue a quality report to the customer.
• Source Inspection. The customer sends a representative from their Quality department to inspect their parts using our equipment prior to shipment. Once Source inspected these parts go directly to the customer’s manufacturing line. This saves the customer having to duplicate inspection at their site, saving space and effectively deploying capital.

For a range of products, source inspection means fewer steps in the machining process. The customer does not have to maintain a separate Quality Control process either. The quality record of our product allows all future shipments to go “dock to stock”, straight into the customer’s parts inventory.

When a customer comes to us with their parts designs, we apply our technology to producing it. Our machinists work with your engineers to create a product that's as close to the original design as possible at the lowest possible cost, without constraining your engineers and designers with outdated processes and equipment, allowing them to reach their full product vision.

JIT stands for "Just in Time." Everyone's driving for shorter lead times. This allows you to not carry so much inventory and saves on storage costs. With demand so wide-ranging, you don’t know which parts you'll need/which parts customers will want. More frequent inventory turns (facilitated by near window delivery) results in smoother cash flow and faster inventory cycle counts, as well as closer to real-time product feature tuning.

With JIT, our customers only need to keep 1-2 weeks of inventory at any time. We constantly feed new product to you within that window. Need more? Our rapid turnaround gets you additional product—just in time. When businesses buy offshore parts, they have to buy huge containers with 60-90 days of inventory. Then they have to sell all 60-90 days' worth of inventory before they can order more. With Diablo Precision, you don't have to do that. We deliver close to the need window, and we can dynamically change according to customer demand. We make it happen due to how we manage our machinery—automated, 24/7, with efficient switching between products.

A popular option for the semiconductor industry. The customer issues a purchase order with "buffer requirements" on certain products. For instance, they may require that we retain a 30% rolling buffer of product for 90 days. At any point in those 90 days, they can call for parts, and we deliver within 24-48 hours. Maintaining product buffer is based on forecasts, which can change at any time. Demand Pull Ordering means we can machine buffer products around other projects, keep stock supplied, and meet customer needs when they arise.
